Enabling Financial Freedom: Becoming Your Own Boss in Massage Therapy

With help from Lumion's payment plans, one student turned a passion for caregiving into a career and now runs her own massage therapy practice.
What was your background before attending Massage and Bodywork?
I was working at a senior care home. I had some exposure to massage therapy through my work there and wanted to pursue it further as a career. There's a great school in the town where I live that specializes in massage and bodywork. I've always been intrigued by helping people and I felt as if this is my calling, so I enrolled at that education center.
How did Massage and Bodywork affect your career path?
The school was great, gained much insight. Since I graduated, I've managed to get my own little spot in a salon. I like being my own boss, it feels nice. I get to dictate my hours and the clients I take on.
How did Lumion help you on your educational journey?
I heard about Lumion through the school owner. The center's tuition is paid directly through the system. Payment plans were easier than paying upfront, at the time, and it's been a simple process ever since.
What advice do you have for those pursuing a career school education?
I would probably say that if you're as intrigued by helping people as much as I am, go for it. Being so connected to the practice brings you a sense of inner peace and calmness, as well. It's as peaceful to the therapist as it is to the client.
